Tomorrow is the big day. WE ACTUALLY GET UNDERWAY. We have a 3 1/2 hour trip to Friendship Village Campground in Bedford, PA; a 1 night stay before we head to Cleveland, OH and Lynne's family.  Goodbye to all; we will miss you.

A little background. Our RV is a Holiday Rambler, Presidential Suite, 37SKQ. Hence the blog name. It is a 39 foot 5th wheel that we pull with a Silverado 3500 turbo-diesel, crew cab, long bed, dually. We have our wonderful border collie Zuni with us.
Now we have a delay in leaving PA. It seems that a post on our awning was bent during a recent rain storm. To get it fixed we need to order a replacement part, wait 10 days, and have it fixed in Lancaster, PA where we originally bought the RV. We have an appointment for Aug 8th. Hope this summer isn't over before we begin traveling.

Wow!  Only a week and a half before we go.  Finally got rid of the Mustang so we're all set. I finish PT on the 31st and we're off on the 1st.

Well, I guess this is the beginning. On June 24th, all of our household belongings that we were not taking with us in the RV were stored and we moved to the RV. On June 30th we closed on our home after living in it for 24+ years.

And  now the adventure begins. To date, we have been living in the RV for almost a month. We are staying in a RV campsite/trailer park in Hatfield, PA, approximately a 45 minute drive from our home. It took us about 2 weeks to find places for all our "stuff." It is quite livable now. Our goal is to leave Philly on Aug. 1 after Stephen's last OT therapy appointment for his healing, broken wrist. Our first stop will be Cleveland where we will visit family for 3-4 days. Following that visit we will take off for Mackinaw Island,  and the upper peninsula of Michigan and head west across the northern border of the U.S.

We are presently saying good-bye to friends and I'm finishing what I can do at work. I will be working full-time through December, but from the RV. In addition to my work, I will continue this blog and add photos along the way.

I hope that all of you will enjoy reading the blog, sending us posts about your activities and adventures. Please stay in touch by posts, emails, texts, phone, or even visits! We will miss you.
